Kid's haircuts

in 15 minutes

Fears and tears?

We're ready for anything.

Do you feel like the 'mean parent' every time your kid needs a haircut?

Aren't you tired of...

✁ bribing your child just to walk into the salon,

✁ struggling to comfort or distract them during haircuts,

✁ apologizing to the stylist and other customers,

✁ and worrying every time their hair gets long?

We are quick & confident. Our speciality is navigating little, uncooperative heads.

We’re fast, fearless,

& experienced.

After 30+ years of kid’s haircuts,

we’ve seen and handled it all.

As moms, we've taken our kids for haircuts too. When your kid is scared of them, it's something you dread doing. It's what spurred the start of this family-owned business in 1992.

Most salons don't cater to kids. Typical salons focus on services for adults who are clear and cooperative during their visit. You can probably guess that isn't the case with kid's haircuts.

If your child is scared of haircuts, or you just want a fast haircut, we can help you.

Sparky's salons:

☆ are a vibrant environment full of happy distractions,

❀ don't use any typical chemicals found in adult salons,

♡ have specialty chairs that keep them busy,

✄ and have stylists who work quickly, kindly, & confidently.

We’ll get you out the door in 15 mins

with a balloon and a smile. 🎈

Fighting Frizzy Hair: Part 3

October 24, 20223 min read

Hi Frizz Fighters! In the last two segments of this Frizz Fighting Mega Tip we discussed where frizz comes from and how to prevent it from washing and conditioning to drying. This final tip is the last step of your anti-frizz preparation. Remember that Sun Tzu quote from the first section of this mega tip? Fighting frizz can definitely be a battle especially in our wet climate. We have already utilized some products in our arsenal but we need one final step to be shielded. Frizz fighters, what we need is some armor!

You have a few options to prevent the wet weather from messin’ with your ‘do! What you want to do is lock out the external moisture from getting to your hair. I’m going to throw out a word that some of you may remember from science class in high-school… hydrophobic. As you can probably figure out by looking at that word it means something like fear of water. Hydrophobic things repel water and that is exactly what we want your hair to do. Anti-humidity products will help you make that hydrophobic shield.

Products with the polymers in them work great to give your hair that sealed, hydrophobic coating. Silicone is a common polymer used in many types of hair products geared towards anti-frizz. Argan oil products also contain silicone and absorb into the hair a little better so you are left with less risk of a greasy residue when you apply it on your dry hair. Not only can you use oils to make your hair resist that moisture but you can also pick up an anti-humidity hairspray. These sprays vary in hold. AG recently released a brand new anti-humidity spray called Frizzproof. It has no hold which means no crisp or crunch on your hair but it seals your cuticles using polymers as well as argan oil to give you shiny frizz proof hair.

If you use hairspray to keep everything in place after you’ve styled your hair, try to look for hairsprays which are also humidity resistant and contain polymers. You will be able to find a wide range of hairsprays which offer a humidity resistant hold anywhere from light to extreme. Hairsprays like the Sebastian Re-Shaper, AG Ultradynamics, Moroccanoil Luminous hairspray and Babyliss Pro Argan Oil Hairspray. All of them give you that hydrophobic coating but with different levels of hold. The Moroccanoil and Babyliss Pro hairsprays will add more shine to your hair and give you a much softer feeling than most hairsprays due to the argan oil which is in them. The Ultradynamics is very strong hold but doesn’t have that flakey residue that a lot of high hold sprays give you. Re-Shaper also has quite strong hold but they have a brushable formula that won’t leave your hair feeling sticky.

That’s the end of our frizz mega tip! Frizz Fighters, you are now ready to handle the next few months of wet weather in Vancouver. Neither sleet, nor snow, nor hail shall keep you from having your hair stay gorgeous and smooth all day!

We covered a lot of products in the three sections of this tip which can make it hard to know what to use specifically for you.

We are always ready to help you figure out what you need for your hair, and how to use it too! If you have any questions about your hair or you're looking for any hair care product, please send us a message.
